Episode One: Them And Us
A fashion show is about to take place at Larkhall and G-wing are busy practising. But when Carol, a pregnant inmate miscarries in the night, a near riot breaks out. Consequently G-wing remove themselves from the show. Helen Stewart the wing governor tries hard to form an alliance with Nikki Wade, another of the inmates, but is unsuccessful in her tries. A compromise is reached and the G-wing are back in the fashion show.
During all of this Jim Fenner is busy playing sugar daddy with one of the new inmates.
I find that this episode is one of the more tedious ones. Though I have to admit the scenes with 'Smelly Nelly' more than make up for it!

Episode Two: Drug Wars
Helen decides it is time that Larkhall did its best to prevent drugs from coming into the prison. Nikki Wades name is put forward to the DST and she is strip searched, Helen finds out about this and finds herself on the end of a verbal attack from Nikki.
New inmates Zandra Plackett and Monica Lindsay arrive at the prison. Monica is outraged by the way she is treated when she arrives but Zandra who has been at Larkhall previously has brought a little something with her to help numb the pain.
Monica is proving to be a very beneficial friend to some of the inmates. Monica however is only concerned about her son Spencer, who suffers from Down Syndrome.
Nothing ground-breaking in this episode but I thought the DST scenes were very funny. Is it a man or is it a woman?! Hmmm! I'm still undecided.

Episode Three: Love Rival
The consequences of Aims unprofessional conduct are beginning to show.
Another inmate, Crystal Gordon or the 'Singing Nun' arrives at Larkhall.
Rachel is finding Shells attention too much to handle.
Nikki and Monica begin to form what looks like a strong friendship.
Zandra is determined to marry her fiancé Robin in prison and goes through detox to prove herself to both Robin and Helen. She is heartbroken though when she finds out that Robin is engaged to someone else, and discovers she is pregnant with his child.
Quite a good episode concentrating mainly on Zandra. We're introduced to Crystals 'innits' for the first time.

Episode Four: The Victim
Zandra decides she wants an abortion and is accompanied by Lorna and Dominic to the hospital, but things don't run smoothly.
Rachel is suffering under the influence of Shell and the threat of her mother giving her baby to social services. It's too much for her and she takes drastic action.
Nikki is devastated when she learns her partner has been having an affair, consequently the relationship ends.
Lorna and Dominic worry about Zandra's escape but decide not to tell Helen.
A good episode that shows a lot of different sides to the characters. Quite an emotional episode, definitely pulls on your heart strings. Pass the tissues!

Episode Five: Tangled Web
An investigation is held looking into Rachels death and it looks as though Jim Fenner is involved. Nikki is put down the block for fighting with Shell Dochley but Helen decides to go easy on her due her personal problems, Nikki is shocked by Helen's actions.
An important turn in Helen's and Nikki's relationship. We see Jim sweat a bit over Rachel's death.

Episode Six: A Big Mistake
A new inmate Jesse Devlin, an alcoholic, finds herself at Larkhall. It seems its not only Shell that isn't pleased to see her, neither is Denny, but why?
We see a complete change to Nikki is attitude towards Helen. Helen convinces her to do an open university course and lends her book although it is against prison regulations.
Dominic wants to resign but after a night out at the pub and a confession to Helen he decides to stay.
Blackmail is on the cards for Lorna.
A good episode not only because there is lots of Helen and Nikki interaction but also because we see a vulnerable side to Denny.

Episode Seven: Playing With Fire
Marriage is in the air when Sean (The Prawn, I couldn't have put it better myself) proposes to Helen. (I vowed to boycott ITV at this point if they did get married, anyway...)
Shell learns of the dealings going on between Zandra and Lorna Rose and manages to get involved.
Nikki is moved up to enhanced by request of the governor and is happy until she finds out Helen is engaged.
Shell is found with drugs in her cell and is moved down to basic unfortunately for Charlie (poor bird).
Helen goes in search of Nikki to explain and wishes she hadn't when Nikki shows Helen what she feels for her.
Helen and Nikki fall out when Helen tells Nikki to focus her attentions on someone else.
A great episode which finally reveals what exactly Nikki feels for Helen and also what Helen feels for Nikki.

Episode Eight: Falling Apart
The two Julies decide to have a go at fermentation. All the inmates get involved even Shell. Shell tries to rumble the Julies but it doesn't go to plan and she remains on basic.
Monica has some bad news when she finds out that her son Spencer has died. Helen accompanies Monica to the funeral which is heartbreaking.
A great episode again, nonstop laughs and a wee bit of sexual tension between out two favourite ladies.

Episode Nine: Pay Back Time
Shell has yet another plan this time it involves her going clean and finding god (you won't be shocked to know its all an act!). Another part of her plan is to get Crystal to write to the papers about drugs in prisons in order to get Helen in trouble with the number one, but it fails.
Shell then decides to set up Lorna Rose hoping this will get her back on enhanced but all it does is make her unpopular with the staff and the inmates.
Monica is planning to kill herself due her sons death.
A new inmate is introduced to us, Yvonne Atkins, who apparently likes to party.
Helen is feeling stressed due to her job and her partner and turns to Nikki for solace, (that's where I'd go!) then it happens, the first kiss (a cheer is heard throughout the land). However Helen freaks out and we are left wondering what will happen next.
Another fab episode (no not just because of the kiss, well...maybe), Lorna finally leaves (thank god) and Yvonne certainly makes an impression.

Episode Ten: Love Hurts
Yvonne forms the Tabernacle gospel choir in order to help regain open visits.
The relationship between Shell and Fenner is stretched when Shell threatens him, she then spends the next couple of minutes counting the cracks in the wall, ouch!!
Helen tells Nikki that she had no right in taking advantage of her and warns Nikki to behave or one of them will have to leave (make it Nikki please!! Sorry but if it comes down to it it has to be Nikki).
Monica attempts her suicide but is found in time by Nikki. Monica then goes on to win her appeal and is released.
Helen tells Sean she can't marry him (woo hoo) and the next time she sees him is in the prison garden setting fire to what would be his wedding suit. Nikki looks on in excitement but is also concerned for Helen.
The series ends with Helen ignoring Nikki's call. Whatever will happen next?!

Episode One: Tug Of Love
Zandra finally has her baby, with her beloved Robin by her side. Things seem to be on the up until she makes a mistake, once again its drugs. Suicide seems to be the answer to her problems, luckily she is saved just in time.
Helen returns to Larkhall in her familiar role as Governor, leaving a very upset Jim Fenner in her wake. Jim seems to be having a lot of problems, returning to the floor is the least of his worries! Someone has been phoning and writing to his wife, telling her what her sneaky husband really gets up to at work and with who.
Meanwhile Helen lays down the law to Nikki, making it clear they have no future.
Great episode if not only for the excitement of seeing Helen back where she belongs.

Episode Two: Shit Happens
Jim comes to the conclusion that Nikki is the one informing his wife of his indiscretions. Things all come to a head when Jim provokes her and is the cause of her being sent down the block. Things become so bad between Helen and Nikki that Nikki is shipped out. Only when Jim realises that Nikki couldn't have been the one tipping his wife off does he realise who the culprit is.
Shell gets what she deserves from Jim and decides to tell the governor what has been going on. The revelation brings Nikki back to Larkhall and forces Helen to resign.
Another good episode, we get a real insight into the relationship Nikki and Helen have, plus Dochley gets her just deserts!

Episode Three: Visiting Time
Karen Betts takes over as wing governor after Helen's resignation. Jim is still suspended and doesn't take the news well. Unfortunately she has a brief past involving Jim Fenner. She soon shows him she means business. Julie J gets a rare chance to see her children as they are back in England, but the kids are somewhat frosty with her after being turned against her by their father. Sylvia soon spoils the reunion, breaking Julie's heart.
Quite a boring episode, its quite a serious one too!

Episode Four: Looking For Love
Denny finds a mother figure in Yvonne who takes Denny under her wing. Denny hears the reason for her mother failing to turn up for her visit and gets permission of Karen to go and see her mother in hospital. Di is only to happy to accompany Denny to see her mother but once they get there they discover that Jessie has already left. This causes Denny a lot of distress and so she decides she has to see her mother and sort things out, but when she does find her she finds herself back at square one.
The two Julies help prepare a romantic meal for Josh and Crystal. All seems to be going well there.
Jim reaches new lows when he falls into the territory of bribery at the hands of Yvonne.

Episode Five: Mistaken Identity
Another time for new arrivals on G-Wing, enter 'Mad Tessa Spall' (great name or what?!), and Barbara Hunt. Unfortunately a case of mistaken identity occurs and it seems the delightful Tessa has a grudge to bear with one Karen Betts.
Yvonne and Jim Fenner manage to strike up a deal and both find themselves better off for it!

Shell is reunited with her mother after Shell confesses her fears for her children to Karen. She is left with no choice to confront her mother about what has happened and about her plans to put her two children into care.

Episode Nine: The Leaving
Zandra's pain becomes unbearbale leaving Crystal in turmoil over her morals. But it doesnt matter as Zandra dies after a terrible seizure.
One goes and another comes, in the form of Shaz Wylie, whom Denny takes an instant liking to. Shell however isnt impressed.
